s May 1995 The reactor operated continuously in May with the following exceptions: five shutdowns for scheduled maintenance and refueling. There were no unscheduled shutdowns this month. The biennial emergency training drill involving outside emergency support organizations was completed this month.
Maintenance items for the month included: installing a boral shield on beamport "B"; shipping eight depleted fuel elements in the BMI-1 cask; replacing the drive motor on the outer personnel airlock door; and replacing the detector on nuclear instrument channel #5 (power range monitor).

5/7/95 Refueled - removed core 95-19, loaded core 95 20. Shipped eight depleted fuel elements in BMI 1 cask.
5/15/95 Refueled - removed core 95-20, loaded core 95-21. Replaced the drive motor for the outer personnel airlock door. Replaced NI Channel #5 (PRM) detector.
5/22/95 Refueled - removed core 95-21, loaded core 95-22.
5/30/95 Refueled - removed core 95 22, loaded core 95 23.

Dear Sir:
l In accordance with commitments made by the University of Missouri-Columbia and with the NRC Order dated July 13,1994, this report is being submitted to you. The purpose of this report is to provide you with monthly progress on the completion status of the action items identified in the Safety Performance Improvement Program (dated June 20,1994). I have been providing you these monthly progress reports by the 15th of each month.
The University began Phase Three ofits Action Plan in January 1995. No duc date was established for completion of Action Plan items in April 1995. The University has submitted a written request (dated February 15,1995) to change the frequency of these progress reports. We understand that no change may be made without your written approval.
