Iridium 192 Shipments from the University of Missouri Columbia Research Reacwr

Dear Mr. McCormick Barger:

This is to acknowledge the receipt of your March 9,1995 letter and to inform you that we will ship Ir 192 to NRC Material Licensees authorized to receive Ir 192 without requiring them to have the inherent Ir 198m on their license.

Additionally; we wish to inform you that it is our intent to continue following our existing j procedure with respect to activities listed on the shipping papers. The procedures require un to identify on the shipping papers all activities necessary for the cumulative sum to be at least ninety percent (90 %) of the total sum. This pohey has been in force at MURR for approximately two l years. In December 1994, DOT inspected our shipping program for compliance, including our {'

procedures, shipping papers and the methodology used to arrive at the activities reported on shipping papers. No violation of 49 CFR was identified.
