TURKEY POINT REGULATORY EFFECTIVENESS REVIDf This is to bring you up to date on the status of the report which reflects the results of the Regulatory Effectiveness Review which was conducted at Turkey Point during the week of May 23, 1983
' We forwas JJ c. pr:;;;:d 1ctt:r of transmittal along with the report to NRR on July 27, 1983. The Director, Division of Licensing (DL), NRR, has established internal procedures which require review and comment on the l
report by several NRR staff offices prior to transmittal to the licensee.
One of these offices, the Standardization and Special Projects.8 ranch (SSPB) serves as the coordinating office for DL.

In recent discussions with SSPB we expressed both our interest and that of Region II in expediting the prompt processing of the report. We were informed that comments from all interested NRR offices have not been received. This matter will be followed closely to attempt to see that the report is forwarded to Florida Power and Light as soon as possible. If it appears that the processing of the report is inordinately delayed. I will personally take the matter up with the Director, DL.
In the meantime, I prefer to play this on a " low-key" basis since it may be that we are merely going through some " growing pains" in handling these reports.
I would not like to aggravate a situation which could well be of a temporary nature.
