INSPECTION REPORT NO. 30-47/74-01 .O!MRC
Inspection identified three violations and three unresolved items that
are typical of poor management at AMMRC. No specific hazard to person-
nel was found.
One violation was repetitive in that a citation for violation of TS re-
quirements on cathodic protection was made on the preceding inspection
and again this time.
In view of the 1997 expiration date for License
to minimize
No. R-65, the cathodic protection seems fairly important
below-grade corrosion on the containment shell.
Corrosion is already
extensive.
Dr. Gorum seemed inclined to take reasonable action however, the general
attitude of other personnel is that funding is very tight.
There was talk of changing Technical Specifications' to reduce surveil-
lance requirements, and possibly decommissioning the reactor.
I believe that an annual folicv-up is necessary to get the outstanding
items resolved for this f acility.
