d DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS APPRAISAL RESPONSE A7 POINT BEACil NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 This is to confirm the March 26, 1982 telephone conversation between Dr. E. J. Lipke of our staff and Mr.

J. A. Pagliaro of your office concerning the extension of the due date for the response to your February 11, 1982 letter to Mr. Sol Burstein.

In that conversation, Mr.

Pagliaro indicated agreement to a one-week extension.

In preparing our response, we have decided upon a relatively major modification to the configuration of our emergency response facilities.

Accordingly, we requested the extension to afford time for further management review of our new proposal.

Pursuant to your February 11 and your February 22, 1982 letters, the due date for our response was March 29, 1982. The new extencion results in a duc date of April 5, 1982.
