%g.Nr WASHINGTON D C 20555 DOCKET 50-312 RANCHO SEC0 NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION UNIT N0 1 TMI ACTION PLAN - ITEM III.A.l.2 In the District's letter of November 17, 1980, we indicated that the current Emergency Offsite Facility (E0F) location is at the California Division of Forestry Headquarters in Ione. The purpose of this letter is to describe the District's plan for a permanent E0F.
The District has recently purchased a facility acjacent to the SMUD Headquarters Building. One of the functions of this facility will be to house the permanent E0F. The District believes that the many advan-tages of proximity to all the resources available in the SMUD Headquarters Building outweigh the disadvantage of being located 23 miles from the Rancho Seco site. The permanent E0F is expected to replace the facility at Ione by October 1, 1982.
