South Texas Project Unit 1 Docket No. STN 50-498 Licensee Event Report.93-017 Extension of Feedwater Isolation Bypass Positioner and Solenoid Beyond Eauipment Oualification Life Pursuant to 10CFR50.73, Houston Lighting & Power (HL&P) submits the attached Unit 1 Licensee Event Report 93-017 regarding extension of Feedwater Isolation Bypass Valve (FWIBV) positioner.

and solenoid beyond equipment qualification' life. ~ This event did not have an adverse effect on the health and safety of the public.

At the request of NRC Region IV personnel, information regarding the FWIBV which was thought to be partially open since April 1992, is included in the Additional Information section of this Licensee Event Report. HL&P concluded that the valve was actually closed.
