2. vent Narrative:

f Unit 1 was operating at 97 percent power; unit 2 was in a refueling outage; and unit 3 was in a maintenance outage. Only unit 3 was affected by the event.

Surveillance Instruction (SI) 4.7.F.5 was-performed on the unit 3 primary containment purge system, per the commitment made in LER response BFRO-50-259/82089 The maximum flow rate attained was 4245 cfm, which is not within the required 10-percent of the design flow (6000 cfm) as specified by Technical' Specification 3.7.F.2.C.

1 The HEPA filters (MSA model B-SK-1743-1098-1) were removed and inspected.

No damage was found. New HEPA filters were installed and satisfactorily tested. Based on past experience, it is believed that sand dust from the sandblasting operations associated with the torus modifications of the previous refueling outage had clogged the internals of the HEPA filters.

The redundant standby gas treatment system was operable. There was no adverse effect on the health and safety of the public.
