Dear Mr. Noyak:

.By Reference (1), Florida Power Corporation docketed a comprehensive submittal ' responding to the Commission's requirements regarding Environ-mental Qualification of Safety-Related Electrical Equipment. This sub-mittal fulfilled the Order for Modification of License imposed on Crystal River Unit 3. By Reference (2), the NRC stated that FPC should rev.iew the Staff identified deficiencies and their ramifications (contained in the " Partial Review of the Equipment Evaluation Report by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation") and provide to the Staff an overall deter-mination regarding continued safe operation' of CR-3. Accordingly, the - following information is provided pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(f). . Florida Power Corporation has reviewed the Staff identified deficiencies and their ramifications (contained. in the " Partial Review of the Equip-ment Evaluation Report by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation" included.in 1 Reference (2)) and concluded that ' continued operation of Crystal River Unit 3 is safe and is, therefore,' warranted. This conclu-

sion is based upon our item-by-item : review ~ of - Staff identified de-ficiencies and their ramifications.

It is also noted that no components were categorized by the Staff as " Equipment Requiring Immediate Corrective Action," referring to Section 4.1 of Reference (2). Florida Power Corporation is continuing its efforts on environmental qualification of safety-related electrical equipment thus complying with the Order of Modification of License dated October 24, 1980, i imposed on Crystal River Unit 3. .FPC will promptly resolve, within the provisions of that Order of Modification of License dated October 24, 1980, a negative finding concerning the safety of continued operation due to environmentally non-qualified safety-related electrical equip-t'ent.
