Dear Mr. DeYoung:

This is in response to your letter of November 29, 1978 and the letter from Mr. Ballard of your division dated November 29, 1978.

Mr. Ballard's letter requests additional information regarding the site selection methodology for Douglas Point.

PEPCO intends to file the requested information by March 15, 1979.

Your letter advised PEPCO that the Staff intends to commence review of the Douglas Point issues early in the calendar year 1979. Your letter further states that the Staff will establish a revised schedule for completion of the hearings upon receipt of the schedule for providing a response to Mr. Ballard's letter.

Based on Mr. Ballard's letter, PEPCO be lieves the March 15 date will permit completion of the Staff review by July. PEPC0 will be ready to assist the Staff in their review whenever necessary to meet the July date.

It is requested that the Commission advise PEPCO within a couple of weeks of their schedule for completion of the hearings. If necessary, PEPCO is prepared to meet with the Commission at the Executive level in order to expedite this matter.
