Reportable Occurrence 335-76-47 Xicensee Event Report Page Two Event Descri tion (Continued) driven auxiliary feedwater pump failed to start because of moisture buildup (see reports 335-76-22 and 335-76-36). Xn addition to, further sealing of the pump control circuitry, nearby steam drains have been rerouted away from the circuitry in order to remove the source of the moisture. A plant change, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.59, has been generated to modify the control circuit so that the trip solenoid will remain in the latched position follow-ing a pump stop. This should eliminate starting failures related to the trip latch failing to engage (see report 335-76-36). Also, surveillance testing has been increased to help ensure proper operation of the steam driven auxiliary feedwater pump.
