Boron Mixing and Natural Circulation Cooldown Test - Palo Verde Unit 1 By letter dated January 31, 1985, you submitted the procedure to be used for the Boron Mixing and Natural Circulation Cooldown Test.

In response to staff comments, the procedure has been revised as described in your letter of August 29, 1985.

The staff has completed its review of the procedure, as modified by your August 29, 1985 letter, and finds that it is acceptable for the conduct of the test.

As you are aware, the staff plans on witnessing the performance of the Natural Circulation Cooldown Test.

Therefore, we request that you advise us of the planned test date so that the staff can make appropriate arrangements.

Following completion of the test, we request that you submit a post-test

.report which should include an evaluation of how plant's performance is in conformance with Branch Technical Position RSB 5-1.

If you have any questions regarding this letter, you should contact, Mr. E. A. Licitra, the Licensing Project Manager.
