John, Per our conversation today, PPL is providing the following clarification to PLA 7052 dated 8/30/2013.

PPL requests that the NRC authorize Relief Requests 4RR-05, 4RR-06, 4RR-07, and 4RR-08

{Attachments 2 through 5. Relief Request 4RR-02 (Attachment 1) does not need to be authorized since it has already been authorized for the Fourth Inspection Interval.

Susquehanna Unit 1/2 Relief Request 4RR-02 Importance: High Duane:

I spoke briefly with Jason Jennings yesterday concerning Susquehanna Unit 1&2 Relief Request 4RR-02 included in PPL's letter dated 8/30/2013 [ML13247A167]. The relief request has words indicating that it was submitted as, "simply an administrative placeholder," and that "no further or revised authorization is required." Yet, the cover letter includes 4RR-02 in the list of Relief Requests for which authorization from the NRC by April 25, 2014, is requested. Therefore, the submittal is unclear as to whether or not PPL is seeking authorization for 4RR-02. If not, then we do not understand why the relief request was submitted - the NRC has no, "administrative placeholder," submittal designation for relief requests.

Please respond to this e-mail by COB on Monday, 9/16/2013, indicating if PPL does or does not request that the NRC staff authorize Relief Request 4RR-02, submitted in PPL letter dated 8/30/2013, so that the acceptance review can proceed without delay.
