6026 E. Palomino Lane Scottsdale, 85266 General Comment The data show that San Onofre nuclear power plant cannot be safely operated. Whistle-blower after whistle-blower have raised concerns about the degraded status of the machinery and the culture of compromise found at this plant.
There are few safe evacuation routes and they (1-5) would be choked immediately in a disaster.
People would have no choice but to shelter in place. Ordinarily prevailing winds would blow radiation fallout inland, affecting the millions of people living within 200 miles of the plant.
Resuming operations at San Onofre would jeopardize the lives and safety of millions and millions of people with no plan for safe evacuation.
The plant must be de-commissioned now.
