The purpose of this letter is to provide notification that FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC), applicant in this proceeding, sent the enclosed letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on May 30, 2012. The letter documents FENOCs completion of the actions required by the December 2, 2011 Confirmatory Action Letter related to Shield Building cracking identified at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, including the results of recent inspections of the Shield Building. The enclosed letter is potentially relevant to the proposed contention that was filed by Intervenors on January 10, 2012 and to FENOCs supplemental answer related to mootness, dated April 16, 2012.
