Dear Mr. Pacilio:

This refers to an investigation conducted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC),

Office of Investigations (OI) to determine whether surveillance test results from February 3, 2010, were falsified at the Dresden Generating Station. Based on the evidence developed during the investigation, we did not substantiate the allegation. The synopsis from the OI Report of Investigation is enclosed. The NRC plans to evaluate the underlying non-willful technical issue in a future baseline inspection.

OI SYNOPSIS This investigation was initiated on July 25, 2011, by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Office of Investigations, Region III, to determine whether surveillance test results from February 3, 2010, were falsified at the Dresden Generating Station.

Based upon the evidence developed, this investigation did not substantiate the allegation that surveillance test results from February 3, 2010, were falsified.
