By the referenced letter, Areva TN Americas submitted a report to the NRC providing information required by 10CFR71.95(a)(3) and (b) with respect to Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 9233, Revision 11, for the Model No. TN-RAM Package, Docket No. 71-9233. FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) was notified by Areva TN Americas of the as-built discrepancies by letter dated June 19, 2014. FENOC is reporting pursuant to 10 CFR 71.95(a)(3) and (b) instances in whi6h the conditions of approval in CoC 9233 for the TN-RAM packaging may not have been observed when making shipments from the Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP). FENOC records show that PNPP made a total of 6 shipments using the TN-Ram packaging in the time period October 3, 2007, through January 15, 2008, to ship spent fuel pool cleanout waste without incident. These shipments are listed in Attachment 1.

Areva TN Americas has evaluated the identified discrepancies and determined they were non-safety significant. Areva TN Americas has submitted a CoC revision request to include revisions necessary to correct the as-built discrepancies. The NRC approved this request by letter dated July 3, 2014 (ML14188A896).
