The -inspector met with those people identified in paragraph I for a dis-

. cussiontof the status of and TVA's plans for drywell and steam tunnel frames

manufactured for the Hartsville Nuclear Plants by Atlas Machine and Iron Works, Gainesville, VA.

The licensee presented a discussion which' included the following primary areas of interest:

Review of frame description and location in the plant b.

History leading to 50.55(e) report c.

Quantification of the problem d.

Evaluation of existing frame conditions e.

Repair, Rework and Replacement Plans The licensee's final presentation included a summary of the ongoing effort to establish reliable impact test data for ASTM A 572 steel in order to provide justification for acceptance of existing installed frames.

Inspection at Hartsville Site (November 17-18,1981)

The inspector visually inspected frames 10 and 11 in Unit A-2 and frames 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 in Unit A-2.

The reinspection data for these frames was discussed with site engineering personnel.

There were no violations or deviations in this area of the inspection.
