Licensee Action on Previously Identified Items (Closed) Open Item (50-483/85015-01):

Implementation of revised vendor interface program. The inspector verified by reviewing the licensee's vendor interface procedures that the NUTAC recommended enhancements have been incorporated into the procedures and that the procedures have been implemented.

This item is considered to be closed.

J This area was previously addressed in Region III Inspection Reports No. 483/85013, No. 483/85015 and No. 483/87012.

In addition to the activities addressed in the above reports, the inspector ascertained that procedures APA-ZZ-00303 " Classification of Systems and Equipment",

APA-ZZ-0430 " Classification of Parts" and APA-ZZ-00018 " Upgrade of Parts, Materials and supplies" had been implemented. To verify the implementation of the equipment classification program, the inspector selected five components from the containment spray system and three from the reactor trip system. The inspector determined that these components were all listed on the Callaway "0" List as safety-related components, b.

vendor interface procedures had been implemented. The inspector selected components in the containment spray system; Valve DN-HV-0001, Valve EN-HV-0006, flow element EN-FE-0005, level transmitter EN-LT-0017 and the containment spray pump motor to verify that instruction manuals had been supplied by the

manufacturer. The vendor manuals were on file and controlled by plant procedures. All the manuals reviewed by the inspector were current revisions applicable to the installed equipment. Vendor manuals for reactor trip breakers and manual trip switches were

reviewed and determined to be complete with latest revisions.

No violations or deviations were identified.

Reactor Trip System Reliability

This inspection area was previously examined and found to be acceptable as identified in Inspection Report No. 483/85015.

In addition to those items inspected during the previous inspection the inspector verified that vendor recommended modifications had been performed on the reactor trip breakers. The modifications performed were:

UVTA replacement modification On-line.esting capability Shunt trip attachment replacement Automatic shunt trip modification The inspector reviewed completed work requests, revised drawings, modification procedures, and inspection reports documenting the installation of the above modifications.

No violations or deviations were identified.

Exit Interview The inspector met with licensee representatives (denoted in Paragraph 1)

at the conclusion of the inspection and summarized the scope and findings of the inspection. The licensee acknowledged the inspector's comments.

The inspector also discussed the likely informational content of the inspection report with regard to documents or processes reviewed by the inspector during the inspection.

The licensee did not identify any such p

documents or processes as proprietary.
