This is in response to your letter of August 11, 1987, which provided the corrective action to be taken in response to the medical drill weakness identified during the June 3, 1987 annual emergency exercise at'the Callaway Nuclear Power _ Plant (Report No. 50-483/87017). Your response did not indicate that a_ repeat medical drill would be conducted. All other planned corrective actions were considered satisfactory.
A telephone inquiry on August 25, 1987, by _Mr. James Patterson of my staff to Mr. Milton A. Stiller, Manager, Nuclear Safety and Emergency Preparedness clarified the issue. Mr. Stiller stated-that the medical drill will be repeated as part of_the 1988: annual emergency exercise.
We will expect that a medical drill will be included in the 1988 emergency exercise. No reply is needed for this-letter.
