Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 NRC Inspection Report 50-445/97-03:50-446/97-0 Plant Suooort

  • An excellent records and reports system was in place (Section S1.1).
  • -The alarm stations were redundant, well protected, and the operators were alert, well trained, and efficient (Section S2.1).
  • Personnel access to the protected area was effectively controlled (Section S2.2).
  • A very efficient program was maintained for searching delivered and handcarried packages and material (Section S2.3).
  • An excellent test and maintenance program was implemented that ensured security systems were maintained at their maximum effectiveness (Section S2.4).
  • The assessment aids system provided excellent assessment of the perimeter detection zones. The video capture system was a significant enhancement to the assessment aids system (Section S2.5).
  • Excellent communication capabilities were demonstrated (Section S2.6).
  • The security program received very strong senior management support. Security management staff demonstrated excellent management capabilities (Section S2.7).
  • The protected area lighting system was excellent (Section S2.8).-
