RECEIPT OF REPLY TO NOTICE OF VIOLATION; EA-08-181 (NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000400/2008402), DATED JULY 31, 2008
Dear Mr. Burton:
This letter documents the receipt of Carolina Power and Lights response to the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant Notice of Violation discussed in letter, NRC Office of Investigation Report 2-2007-031, and Notice of Violation, dated July 3, 2008.
Based on the staffs review of Carolina Power and Lights response, no further enforcement action is necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements discussed in the Notice of Violation. However, as part of upcoming routine baseline inspections the NRC will verify the implementation and adequacy of the corrective actions disclosed in your response.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system, ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
