NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT 50-272/98-01 & 50-311/98-01 NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Dear Mr. Keiser:
This letter refers to your April 29, 1998, correspondence (LR-N980197), in response to our April 2, 1998, letter regarding the Salem Unit 1 & 2 facilities.
Thank you for informing us of the corrective and preventive actions for the three Notices of Violation, as documented in your letter. The violations involved the failure to take prompt corrective actions to determine and correct the cause of service water biofouling problems, inadequate procedural adherence for operation of an emergency diesel generator, and operation with less than the required number of diesel fuel oil transfer pumps without entry into the appropriate limiting condition for operation.
We will review the effectiveness of your actions* in a future inspection.
