Routine, announced confirmatory measurements inspection, including:
examination of requirements, documentation and procedures for the radioanalytical laboratory quality control program; collection of plant effluent samples for future comparison under the Confirmatory Measurements progra The inspection involved 54 inspector-hours onsite by three NRC inspector Results:

Quality Control of Analytical Measurements The Radiological Materials Control Officer is responsible for the Confirmatory Measurements progra He also reviews results of all analyses of plant radiological effluent Chemistry Department personnel collect and count samples, then report results to the RMC Office Analytical instrumentation is calibrated every six months by Chemistry Department personne When instrumentation is in use, daily background and source checks are also performed by Chemistry Department personne The inspector reviewed selected calibration procedures, procedures for the nonradioactive analyses of primary coolant, records of daily background and source check No problems were identified by the inspecto.
Confirmatory Measurements Particulate and charcoal filters and split samples of liquid and gaseous waste were collected for future comparison under the Confirmatory Measurements progra The RIII Radiation Measurements Van was used to perform radioanalytical analyses of these samples in addition to the analyses performed by the NRC's Reference Laborator Th 1.
