This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by Messrs.
J. R. Kniceley and J. L. Belanger of this office on October 19-23, 1981, of activities at Big Rock Point Nuclear Power Plant authorized by NRC Operating License No. DPR-6 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. C. J. Hartman, Plant Superintendent and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and in-terviews wit h personnel.
During this ic.spection, certain of your activities appeared to be in non-compliance with RRC requirements, as described in the enclosed Appendix A.
The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified noncoupliance and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to this noncompliance is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter at this time.
Areas examined during this inspection concern a subject matter which is exempt from disclosure according to Section 73.21 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 73, Title 10, Code cf Federal Regulation.
Consequently, the disclosure to this letter and our report of this inspection will not be placed in the Public Document Room.
