SUBJECT:

NRC INSPECTION REPORT 07200043/2020001(DNMS) AND 05000155/2020001(DNMS) - BIG ROCK POINT INDEPENDENT SPENT FUEL STORAGE INSTALLATION

Dear Mr. Corbin:

On October 8, 2020, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed inspection activities at the Big Rock Point Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI). The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate whether the facility was operating in accordance with the NRC approved Part 72 Certificate of Compliance and the Part 50 license conditions. At the conclusion of the inspection, the results were discussed with Mr. Dale Lucy and other members of your staff during an exit meeting on October 8, 2020.

The inspection consisted of reviews and evaluations related to radiation protection, surveillance and maintenance activities, environmental monitoring, quality assurance, and emergency preparedness. Specific areas examined during the inspection are identified in the enclosed report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures, representative records, and interviews with personnel.

Based on the results of this inspection, the inspectors did not identify any violations of NRC requirements.
