This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. L. Belanger and Ms. G. M. Christoffer of this office on October 9-12, 15-18, 1979, of activities at Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units, 1, 2 and 3, authorized by SRC Operating Licenses No. DPR-2, No. DPR-19 and No. DPR-25 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. B. Shelton and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

This also refers to our' meeting on October 31, 1979 regarding concerns resulting from the above physical protection inspection. During this meeting, you indicated that certain actions would be taken which address these concerns as noted in paragraph No. 4 of the enclosed report.

If your understanding of the actions to be taken is different from that noted in the report, please notify this office upon receipt of this letter.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observa-tions, and interviews with personnel.

During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in non-compliance with NRC requirements, as described in the enclosed Appendix A.

The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified noncompliance and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to this noncompliance is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter at this time.

Areas examined during the inspection concern a subject matter which is exempt from disclosure according to Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations. Consequently, our report of this inspection will not be placed in the Public Document Room.
