Inspection Summary Inspection on August 30-31, 1979 (Report No. 50-010/,79-16)

Areas Inspected: Review of specifications and procedures, review of personnel qualifications, and observations of work activities for the HPCI System additions. The inspection involved a total of 14 on site inspector-hours by one NRC inspector.

Weld No. 867-17-5-W1 Pipe heat No. N93776 Line No. 1-61263-6" HPCI pumps S/N-G6101A, and G6101B are stored in place in the HPCI building. Both diesel generators are stored in place in the HPCI building.

Welding materials at UPP are being controlled in accordance with approved procedures. The inspector examined rod oven No. WRO-2 in the fab shop. The issue of welding materials was also examined.

No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Observation of Activities The inspector examined six (6) schedule 80 pipe sections installed through the containment at elevation 540' which were welded for electrical penetrations. Holes for the two (2) mechanical containment penetrations have not been cut.

The following pipe sections were being fabricated in the UPP fabrication shop:
