This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. J. L. Belanger, C. A. Schwan, and Ms. J. C. Scheffer of this office on February 26 -
March 2, and 5-6, 9, 1979, of activities at Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 1, 2 and 3, authorized by NRC Operating Licenses No.
DPR-2, No. DPR-19 and No. DPR-25 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. B. Shelton and other members of your staf f at the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and interviews with personnel.
During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in noncompliance with NRC requirements, as described in the enclosed Appendix A.
The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the noncompliance identified in items 1, 2, 4 and 5.
Consequently, no reply to these items is required.
A response is required for item 3.
Areas examined during this inspection concern a subject matter which is exempt from disclosure according to Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice", Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations. Consequently, the enclosure to this letter, our report of this inspection, and your response to item no.3 identi-fled in the enclosure to this letter will not be placed in the Public Document Room. Therefore, your statement of corrective action regarding item 3 identified in the enclosure should be submitted as a separate enclosure to your transmittal letter.
