Gentlemen:

This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. E. Jones of this office on August 23-26, 1976 at Indian Point Station, Buchanan, New York of activities authorized by NRC License Nos. DPR-5, DPR-26, DPR-64 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Jones with Messrs. Kessig, Salay and Warren of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the Office of Inspection and Enforcement Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinatioas of procedures and representative records, interviews with

personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Our inspector also verified the steps you had taken to correct the Items of noncompliance and deviations brought to your attention in letters dated May 26 and July 27, 1976.

We have no further cuestions regarding your action at this time.

Within the scope of this inspection, no items of noncompliance were observed.

In accordance with Section 2.790(d) of the NRC's " Rules of Practica",

Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, documentation of your control and acccunting procedures for safeguarding special nuclear materials and your facility security procedures are exempt'from dis-closure; therefore, the enclosed inspection repart will not be placed in i

the Public Document Room and will receive limited distribution.
