GGNS is operated by Entergy Operations, Inc.

The application for renewal was submitted by Entergy in a letter dated October 28, pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 54 (10 CFR Part As part of the NRC's review, a site-specific supplemental environmental impact (SEIS) to its "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear (GElS), NUREG-1437, will be prepared under 10 CFR Part 51, the NRC's regulation implements the National Environment Policy Act of 1969, as amended. The SEIS will an analysis of environmental issues, and in accordance with 36 CFR 800.8(c), will analyses of potential impacts to historic and cultural Under NRC regulations, the original operating license for a nuclear power plant is issued for to 40 years, and the license may be renewed for up to 20 years. The current operating for GGNS will expire in November 2024. Entergy has no plans to change current during the license renewal period, intends to use existing plant facilities and transmission and has no plans to construct or disturb undeveloped portions of the site.
