Company, LLC (Exelon Generation) submitted theLicense Renewal Application (LRA) for the Byron and Braidwood

Stations, Units 1 and 2, whichcontained combined technical information required by 10 CFR 54.21 for both stations andseparate site-specific environmental information required by 10 CFR 54.23 for each station.In the Reference 2 letter, the NRC informed Exelon Generation that the schedule for issuance ofthe final site-specific Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for Braidwood

Station, Units 1 and 2 (Braidwood) license renewal has been delayed from September 2015 toNovember 2015. The purpose of the delay is to allow time for NRC staff "to review the results of[a field] study in the Kankakee River and revise the final Braidwood SEIS, as appropriate,"

withrespect to anticipated effects of extended Braidwood operation on the federally-listed endangered sheepnose mussel (Plethobasus cyphyus).

The enclosure to this letter is the report titled "Five Year Post-construction Monitoring of theUnionid Community near the Braidwood Station Kankakee River Discharge Location,"

dated2' September 29, 2015U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Page 2September 2015. It presents the field study results requested by the NRC staff in order tofinalize the Braidwood license renewal SEIS in accordance with the revised schedule set forth inthe Reference 2 letter.Please note that a copy of this letter and its enclosure are being provided to the U.S.Department of Interior and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service -Chicago Field Office (FWS) inthe context of the ongoing Endangered Species Act Section 7 informal consultation betweenNRC and FWS regarding the endangered sheepnose mussel in the Kankakee River near thelocation of the Braidwood discharge.

This letter and its enclosure contain no regulatory commitments.
