Welcome to the NRC Open House Associated with the Environmental Review for the Proposed License Renewal of Braidwood Station This open house is intended to provide an opportunity for interested members of the public and staff from other Federal, State, and local agencies to interact with the NRC staff in an informal information exchange.
The NRC is gathering information necessary to prepare a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) to the Generic Environmental Impact Statement (GEIS) for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, regarding the proposed renewal of the operating license for Braidwood Station (Braidwood), Units 1 and 2.
Please note that if you wish to provide formal comments regarding the scope of the environmental review for Braidwood, they must be presented at either session of todays transcribed public meetings or provided in writing or electronically by Friday, September 27, 2013. Comments received after this date will be considered if it is practical to do so, but the NRC staff is able to assure consideration only for comments received on or before this date. Written comments on the scope of the SEIS should be sent to:

5 minutes The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will host informal discussions one hour prior to each meeting session. No formal comments on the proposed scope of the environmental impact statement will be accepted during the informal discussions. To be considered, comments must be provided either at the transcribed public meetings or in writing, as described in the enclosed Federal Register notice.
For the security of everyone attending this meeting, local law enforcement officers may be conducting searches of bags (briefcases, purses, backpacks, equipment cases, etc.) outside the entry into the meeting room. Additionally, signs, banners, posters and displays affixed to any sticks, poles or other similar devices will not be permitted in the meeting room.
