[External_Sender] Request for Deferral of the Response due date for the STC RAI's received on 8.10.17 Rich, In follow-up with Bob Walpole's phone conversation with you earlier today, please consider thisemail as a formal request for the deferral of the "Response due date of September 18, 2017" for theattached STC RAI's received on August 10, 2017.

The deferral of the due date is required to allow enough turn-around time for the following to beperformed in a quality manner:

1. Availability of Subject matter Experts (SMEs) in the three areas of "Thermal.Shielding/Radiation Protection, and criticality" for addressing the RAI's due to vacation time2. Availability of Subject matter Experts (SMEs) in the three areas of "Thermal.Shielding/Radiation Protection, and criticality" for the review of the responses provided initem 13. Revision of the responses provided in item 1 based on comments received under item 24. Review and acceptance of the revised responses by the SMEs

5. Update of licensing Report, Thermal and Shielding report to reflect responses to the RAIs To address items 1-5 above, we request your approval for the deferral of the due date of September18, 2017 to October 3, 2017, i.e., extending the 45-day response time, as noted in your the NRCletter (ML17219A106) to 60-days.
