The initial request, dated June 11, 2012 (Reference a), proposed theadoption of a new risk-informed performance-based (RI-PB) fire protection licensing basis whichcomplies with the requirements in 10 CFR 50.48(a) and 10 CFR 50.48(c); the guidance in RegulatoryGuide (RG) 1.205, "Risk-Informed Performance-Based Fire Protection for Existing Light-Water NuclearPower Plants," Revision 1; and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 805, "Performance-BasedStandard for Fire Protection for Light Water Reactor Electric Generating Plants," 2001 Edition.

Document Control DeskFebruary 27, 2013Page 2The supplemental information, provided in Enclosures 2 and 3 to this letter, responds to the request foradditional information (RAI) documented in the NRC's letter dated January 3, 2013 (Reference b). Asstated in Reference (b), NMPNS agreed to provide responses to all of the RAIs contained in Reference (b)by March 1, 2013, with the following exceptions: (1) the responses to Fire Protection Engineering RAI 05and Safe Shutdown / Circuit Analysis RAI 06 will be provided by March 31, 2013; and (2) the responsesto Safe Shutdown / Circuit Analysis RAIs 01, 03, and 07 will be provided by April 30, 2013.This supplemental information does not affect the No Significant Hazards Determination analysisprovided by NMPNS in Reference (a). Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91(b)(1), NMPNS has provided a copy ofthis supplemental information to the appropriate state representative.
