Subject:

Nine Mile Point Unit 1 (NMP1) - LAR to adopt NFPA 805 Bhalchandra, In a letter to the NRC dated May 9th, 2014, Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station (NMPNS) submitted the final version of Attachment M of the NMP1 NFPA 805 License Amendment Request. Attachment M contains the proposed License Condition Changes which, upon approval, would replace the current NMP1 fire protection license condition 2.D(7). The proposed wording for the revised license condition 2.D(7) as submitted in the May 9th, 2014 letter begins with the following:

Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC, shall implement and maintain in effect all provisions of the approved fire protection program that comply with 10 CFR 50.48(a) and 10 CFR 50.48(c)

Per a telephone conversation with the NRC PM on June 30th, 2014, NMPNS has agreed to change the 2.D(7) license condition to state:

Exelon Generation shall implement and maintain in effect all provisions of the approved fire protection program that comply with 10 CFR 50.48(a) and 10 CFR 50.48(c)

The change will make the 2.D(7) License Condition consistent with the other current NMP1 License Conditions contained in the NMP1 Operating License.
