General Comment

I am greatly concerned about the decommissioning of Indian Point. There are many safety and financial issues that Holtec will not address. The casks and canisters are inadequate and only have a 20-25 year warranty. Off-site radiation monitoring to detect cracks or other problems with the casks needs to be included. Adjacent gas pipelines are not addressed and pose a risk of explosion. The gas pipelines need to be shut down during decommissioning. Barge transportation on a highly populated area on the Hudson River for the radioactive fuel rods is not safe. Other modes of transport for the fuel rods are not safe either.
