DIABLO CANYON NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 - RECEIPT AND AVAILABILITY OF LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION

Dear Ms. Paula Gerfen:

By letter dated November 7, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML23311A154), Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) submitted an application for the renewal of Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-80 and DPR-82 for Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant (DCPP), Units 1 and 2 to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The NRC staff is currently performing an acceptance review for docketing of the application in accordance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 2.101(a)(2) and will notify you of the results of that review.

Should it determine that the application is acceptable for docketing, the NRC staff will establish a schedule for the review, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.102(a).

A notice of receipt of the license renewal application is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication and a copy of that notice is attached.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brian Harris as the project manager for the safety review and Ms. Kimberly Conway as the project manager for the environmental review of the license renewal application. Please forward copies of all license renewal correspondence to Mr. Harris and Ms Conway. Mr. Samson Lee remains responsible for the project management of all issues other than license renewal for DCPP.
