SUBJECT:

VOGTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT, UNIT 4 ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT AND EXEMPTION REGARDING ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS, TESTS, ANALYSES, AND ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA OPTIMIZATION (LAR-22003) (EPID L-2022-LLA-0130)

Dear Mr. Whitley:

In response to your application dated September 2, 2022, titled, Electrical Inspections, Tests, Analyses, and Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC) Optimization, designated as License Amendment Request (LAR)22-003, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted the enclosed exemption and issued the enclosed Amendment No. 187 to Combined License (COL) No.

NPF-92 for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP), Unit 4.

The amendment involves changes to VEGP, Unit 4, COL Appendix C, with corresponding changes to the associated plant-specific Tier 1 information (PS-DCD) information. Specifically, the amendment involves changes that remove certain ITAAC that are duplicated by other ITAAC, and consolidate a number of other certain ITAAC.

The exemption allows related changes to Tier 1 of the VEGP PS-DCD of the facility COL as specified in LAR-22-003. This exemption is associated with, and necessary for, the granting of the amendment which is being issued concurrently.

A copy of the related Safety Evaluation, which includes the evaluation of the changes, is also enclosed. A notice of issuance of the amendment documents included in this letter will be published in the Federal Register.

B. Whitley 2 In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 2, Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS).
