Dear Mr. Denton:

The Long Island Lighting Company hereby submits Amendment number 52 to its License Application, consisting of Revision 34 to the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR).

The following significant items are included in this revision:

1. Sections 6.3, 7.3, 8.1, 8.3, 9.2, 9.5 and 14.1 along with Tables 8.3.1-1, 8.3.1-1A (new table) and 8.3.1-2 were revised to provide the detailed technical bases and methods utilized in developing a qualified load of 3300 kW for our TDI diesels.
2. Sections 13.1, 13.4 and 13A along with Figure 13.1.2-2 were revised in response to a NRC staff request.

Three (3) signed originals of Amendment 52 and an additional sixty (60) copies are being transmitted herewith. Instructions for making the necessary page changes are enclosed for your convenience.
