Application for an Amendment to racility Operating License NPF-02, Revision to No Significant llamards Consideration Analysis, Gentlemen The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) hac proposed an amendment (reference 1) to the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station Ponsession Only License, NPP-82 requesting that tiie NRC authorizo LIPA to implement the Shoreham Decommissioning Plan. On Wednesday, January 2-, 1992, LIPA revised the no significant hazards consideracion analysis which appears in attachment 1 of the reference (1) letter to facilitate NRC review and approval. This revision appears in the reference (2) letter. This request would take effect only after the NRC 1ha concented to the pending joint request of Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO) and LIPA to transfer NPF-82 from LILCO to L'PA.

In connection with the above, L'.LCO urges that:

(1) the NRC Staff expeditiolsly review the request; (2) the NRC review the requested amendment in the Shoreham docket, No. 50-322; and
