Reply to Notice of Violation 97-10-01 FPC to NRC letter 3F0997 20, dated September 15,1997 e

Dear Sir:

The purpose of this letter is to provide notification that a commitment due date is being extended. Reply to Notice of Violation 97-10-01 discussed inadequate capabilities of the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system that would not allow full assessment of csdain protected area perimeter zone alarms. Crystal River Unit 3 immediately compensated for the inadequacy by posting security force personnel to act as assessors in the event of an alarm in an affected zone. Two of the corrective action commitments that were made in the Reply stated:

February 14,1998 Concertina wire, additional fencing and ' stride-breaking" cables will also be installed by February 14, 1998 to correct physical deficiencies along portions of the Protected Area fenceline.
