The following report on the primary coolant system iodine spike is submitted pursuant to Maine Yankee Technical Specification 3.2.C.

On August 10, 1986 at 0403 hours0.00466 days <br />0.112 hours <br />6.66336e-4 weeks <br />1.533415e-4 months <br />, the plant tripped due to low steam generator level following the loss of a static inverter. At 0506 hours0.00586 days <br />0.141 hours <br />8.366402e-4 weeks <br />1.92533e-4 months <br /> on August 11, 1986, Dose Equivalent I-131 (DEI) activity exceeded 1.0 uCi/ gram and remained above this level until 1253 hours0.0145 days <br />0.348 hours <br />0.00207 weeks <br />4.767665e-4 months <br /> the same day.

The DEI activity, along with plant operating characteristics, and the fuel burnup by core region are presented in Tables 1 and 2, respectively.
