, ENCLOSURE TOPICS OF LESSER SAFETY SIGNIFICANCE VI-10 Fission Products Removal Systems -
A. Iodine Removal by Sprays B. ESF Charcoal Filter System- -
C. Secondary Containment These topics have been deleted from the Comprehensive Topic List on the basis of lesser safety significance.
The effects of reduced credit for these systems will not be critical if the LOCA analyses are performed using realistic assumptions. This is a result of the multiple conservatisms included in the LOCA calculations and because the credit given for some of these systems is considerably lower than realistically may be expected.
Although a detailed independent review of these systems will not be 1 perfortred, they will be considered in the analysis of the radiological '
consequences of a LOCA (Topic XV-19). If the results of this analysis are unacceptably high (i.e., doses in excess of the 10 CFR Part 100 guidelines) it may then be concluded that the design of these systems need'to be reviewed and possibly upgraded to allow credit for these systems in reducing calculated doses.
