RESOLUTION OF NRR COMMENTS ON THE "COMPREHENSIVE LIST I 0F SEP TOPICS (7/20/77)" }

DSE had no coments but asked to see the List again af ter topics were I deleted on the basis of safety significance. DPM suggested the culling of a number of topics on the basis that staff positions have been developed and implementation of these positions is in progress and, for some topics, is nearing completion. Based on DPM's coments werhave deleted four topics (with appropriate justification). And although we

, agree with DPf1 that ongoing reviews on the other topics are well advanced, we have decided to retain these topics for followup purposes to assure that their resolution is appropriately documented by the SEP program.

DSS suggested clarifications to the introduction to the List, additions to the List and revisions to definitions. Their comments ware provided in the fom of handwritten notes and are available for your review. Each ,

of the coments were carefully considered. In response to the DSS coments i i we have clarified the tems "generalizations" and "generic issues" in the

introduction to the List. We considered each suggested addition and were j

able to find an existing topic definition which included each suggested additional topic. Several deletions were suggested by the Accident .

! revisions. All coments suggesting an expanded scope of review were accepted except one. That one regarding piping and safe end integrity )

was discussed and resolved with the originator of the coment. A number of the coments addressed "Status" or "References" or were  ;

editorial in nature and were incorporated only where we agreed that

the revision would assist the SEP effort.
