MFliegel JAShaffner Enclosed for your information is a copy of preliminary results from our recent sampling at the Sheffield low-level radioactive waste disposal site.

This report covers the application of EPA's proposed Method 8600 for organic constituent screening. These preliminary results appear consistent with prior sampling at the site. I had not sent this report previsculy because, as you can see, it does not contain results for specific organic constituents which is our primary interest. I plan to forward further results to you as they are received and reviewed.

As per our discussions of April 10 and 11, 1985, I look forward to receivino a cony of the draft closure plan (incitdina cover design) for the Sheffield site as soon as possible. It would also be very helpful if you could estimate the schedule for future licensing activities for the site. Please call me if you have any ouestions about the preliminary sampling results or other matters.
