TRANSMITTAL OF DRAFT SAFETY EVALUATION FOR FRAMATOME TOPICAL REPORT ANP-10337, REVISION 0, SUPPLEMENT 1P, REVISION 0, DEFORMABLE SPACER GRID ELEMENT By letter dated September 21, 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML18268A153), as supplemented by letters dated July 19, 2019 (ADAMS Package Accession No. ML19204A227) and November 8, 2019 (ADAMS Package Accession No. ML19317E157), Framatome, Inc. (Framatome) submitted Topical Report (TR) ANP-10337, Revision 0, Supplement 1P, Revision 0, Deformable Spacer Grid Element, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff for review and approval.
Framatome explained that the purpose of TR ANP-10337, Revision 0, Supplement 1P, Revision 0, is to supplement the methodology to evaluate the structural response of a fuel assembly design to external dynamic excitations from seismic and loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) events as presented in TR ANP-10337P-A.
The NRC staffs draft safety evaluation (SE), for TR ANP-10337, Revision 0, Supplement 1P, Revision 0, can be found at ADAMS Accession No. ML20154J954. Please note that the draft SE, does not include any Open Items. The SE will support the July 7, 2020, Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards Subcommittee meeting on Metallurgy and Reactor Fuels.
