Summary of Issue Related to RV Flange Leak Detection Line

Sam, The issue we discussed this morning is that there does not seem to be a line item in Table 3.1.2-1 for the reactor vessel flange leakage detection nozzle/penetration. Most PWR reactor vessels have a nickel-alloy penetration through the reactor vessel closure flange that connects to stainless steel small bore piping going to the instrument such as a pressure transmitter. Management of aging effects of such a penetration (specifically cracking) would logically fall under the Nickel-Alloy Management Program.

There is a line item for stainless steel piping associated with the flange leakage detector, which is addressed in LRA Section 3.1.2.2.7.1 and is associated with LRA Table 3.1.1 item 3.1.1-23, in LRA Table 3.1.2-3, but doesnt cover any nickel alloy portion.

Is there a nickel-alloy penetration for the reactor vessel flange leakage detection piping that was accidently omitted from the LRA and does the LRA need to be amended to address?
