On November 23, 2005, members of your training staff administered an NRC Senior Reactorwritten retake examination to one employee of your company who had reapplied for a license to operate the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. The NRC waived the Reactor Operator portion ofthe written examination, and the operating examinations.The SRO applicant passed the written retake examination. There were no post examcomments.In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and itsenclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Roomor from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). §55.43. The facility licensee administered the written retake examination on November 23, 2005. Theoperator licensing initial written retake examination was developed by the licensee. One seniorreactor operator (SRO) applicant passed this retake written examination and was issued a license.No significant issues were identified.
Report Details4.OTHER ACTIVITIES (OA)4OA5Operator Licensing Initial Examinations a.Inspection ScopeThe examiners reviewed the written examination developed by the licensee forcompliance with the guidelines specified in NUREG-1021, Revision 9.The examiner reviewed the licensee's examination security measures while preparingand administering the examinations to ensure that examination security and integrity complied with 10 CFR 55.49, "Integrity of examinations and tests." The examiner evaluated one SRO applicant who was being assessed under theguidelines specified in NUREG-1021. The licensee administered the retake of thewritten examination on November 23, 2005. The evaluation of the applicant and areview of documentation was performed to determine if the applicant met the requirements specified in 10 CFR Part 55. b.FindingsNo findings of significance were identified. The applicant passed his retake examination.
The NRC determined that the licensee's examination submittal was within the range ofacceptability expected for a proposed examination. One SRO passed the written retakeexamination. No post exam comments were submitted.
