Extension Request Evaluation (TAC No. MC4730)" The purpose of this letter is to provide the remaining information to support NRC verification that the completed corrective actions to address GL 2004-02 for WBN are adequate.

This response was prepared using the guidelines set forth in Reference 8.Enclosure 1 provides the necessary supplemental response addressing GL actions at WBN Unit 1, using the guidelines set forth in Reference

8. Enclosure 2 addresses the 11 remaining open audit items described in Reference 5.In References 6 and 7, TVA notified the NRC that final corrective actions to reduce fiber insulation quantities would be completed during the Unit 1 Cycle 8 Outage. Reference 9 approved TVA's request to extend completion of the GL 2004-02 corrective actions until the Cycle 8 Outage. In discussion with the NRR Project Manager, the generic industry supplemental response due date of February 29 was extended for WBN to the end of March to allow for 'completion of the GL 2004-02 actions that were being implemented in the Spring 2008 Cycle 8 Outage. This extension eliminated the need for preparation and review of two separate submittals for status and completion.

The Cycle 8 Outage actions have now been completed.

TVA previously completed the design and installation of the sump strainers during the Unit 1, Cycle 7 refueling outage as committed in Reference

1. TVA corrective actions for GL 2004-02 are now complete. There are no new commitments made in this letter. If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact me at (423) 365-1824.
